This listing is for the original Olann knitting pattern of the Kilcara Hat.

This is an beginner level knitting pattern that uses slip stitches, as well as knit and purl stitches, to complete the pattern. Knit in the round on circular needles, this is an easy-to-knit pattern. The lovely textured design looks great with many different types of wool.

Knit using approximately 120m / 131 yards of Bulky weight yarn, you can choose your favourite to knit this gorgeous design.You’ll need 16” circular needles in 4.5mm (US size 7) and 5.5mm (US size 9), DPNS in the larger needle size, as well as stitch markers and a darning needle to complete this design. I have attached a wool pompom to the crown of the hat, so if you would like to do the same you may need a pompom maker to achieve the same look. The sizing given is suitable for most adult sized heads.
