Iona is classically understated. She is technically a compound raglan design, which means the sleeves and the back and front all increase at different rates, to create a more customized fit. Iona has a deep armhole and a full length sleeve, as well as a cropped length. There is also some invisible neck-shaping, to make the collar sit comfortably. Iona’s biggest feature though is her beautiful braiding detail that runs down all 4 raglan seams. This hand-knit stitch is what gives Iona a truly unique design. The braiding is an ode to the heritage of hand-knitting, and is meant to evoke a feeling of belonging, wisdom and strength. Iona will set you apart.

Because Iona is made from gorgeous Merino Wool, extra care is needed to ensure it remains in tip top shape. I recommend that your garment is folded when not in use. Natural fibres can pill with wear, which is a natural process and not to be feared. To keep your sweater looking great, you can use small scissors or a wool shaver to remove any unwanted fluff. Or, if you prefer, embrace the pills!

Note on colour:

Malabrigo makes the loveliest wool, but they do not supply their wool in dye-lots. I do my best to transition between one skein of wool and another as seamlessly as possible, and to choose enough matching skeins to complete each project. But sometimes more noticeable colour changes are visible. I hope you will love these quirks as a sign of the handmade nature of your product.
